The British History Group's aim is to learn about society, characters and contributing factors behind historical periods and events in an enjoyable and accessible way. We are a varied bunch, sharing an interest in History and a love of discovering new things about the past. We like to come away from our friendly meetings having learnt something new.

Having decided on which area of History we want to study, we prepare and enjoy talks, guest speakers and outings over the following months. There is no compulsion to give a talk, you can just attend and listen. Subjects we have covered so far include: The Victorians, The English Civil War and The Romans. In January 2024, we are starting to look at the Normans and hope to arrange a relevant visit during the year.

We would love you to come and join us.
